Ms. Martha's Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel is named after Ms. Martha Babb. She was a powerful advocate for her community. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years at Mayfield's First Baptist Church, 19 years on the Mayfield City Council as the first woman ever to serve, was awarded the Distinguished Citizen Award by the Mayfield/Graves County Chamber of Commerce, and was the Mayfield Tourism Director until 2001, age 75.

When you visit Ms. Martha's Grand Hotel, you will be in awe at the breathtaking replica of what most travelers experienced during the Victorian Age of the 1840's. The grand staircase leads up to each guest room, then there is a spinning wheel and fainting sofa to finish the Victorian look.

An old Victrola wind up phonograph also sits in the corner of the room. Our host & hostess that will greet you as you visit the Grand Hotel are Larry & Linda Hicks. They are long time volunteers at Cartwright Grove and enjoy talking with our guests during our openings. Be sure to stop by and have a chat with them!
