Brown Graveyard

The Cartwright Grove graveyard is a small graveyard that has all "fictional people" buried within it. Inside you will find a headstone that was once a part of the Wooldridge monuments that was damaged during the Ice Storm of 2009, along with the fence surrounding the graveyard that was damaged from the monument as well. It was bent and literally crushed by the trees andlimbs that fell upon it during the ice storm. Hugh Kirby patiently took his time and bent each piece back so we could use it in the cemetery. Come and visit because you never know "whose name" may be there on a tombstone.

Our graveyard is sponsored by Brown Funeral home of Clinton, Mayfield & Wingo. The Brown family history has evolved from the strength of Hickman & Graves counties and the people who devoted their lives to helping others during their time of sadness. As a family owned business, they strive daily to step in and help families through a very difficult time.

In 1952, Robert W. "Bob" and Dorothy Denny Brown brought their twin sons Bobby & Billy to Clinton. Bob & Dorothy had lived in Louisville Kentucky where Bob was an embalmer and a funeral director.
