First National Bank

Inside the First National Bank you will find a file cabinet dating back to 1886. It came out of the Graves County Courthouse before it burned in 1887. This cabinet is seen by tourist and displays the names of many who have supported our town with small monetary donations. Some of the nameplates are in memory of a loved one.

The original cabinet became full and George & Nancy Glover donated another cabinet that Mr. George built himself using his many woodworking skills. George retired from Mayfield School System after years of teaching carpentry class and was also director of the bus garage.

Visitors may have a name put on small gold-colored plate for a donation of $25.
If you are interested in a name plate of your own, please contact Jill Kirby.
